Mortgage rates fell for the third straight week, dipping below 3% for the first time in two months.

Clark County gained about 700 jobs in March on a seasonally adjusted scale. It was the third month in a row of gains for the local job market.

There is an increase in new home construction activity but lumber is the biggest culprit – lumber prices have risen more than 180 percent in the past year, according to the National Association of Homebuilders, which translates to a $24,000 increase in the average cost to build a single-family home.
