According to conceptual renderings submitted to the City of Vancouver, the newly announced grocery store will have a sleek architectural design, an attached parklike area, and its own parking lot with around 71 spaces.
The 26,000-square-foot New Seasons Market, which will open in 2023 on a long-vacant lot north of Mill Plain Boulevard, will be built on a long-empty lot at 1506 Main St.
Although the project is in the early stages of permitting, and details are subject to change, another feature of the New Seasons Market is a covered outdoor seating and dining area on the west side of the property, along Washington Street.
“A neighborhood friendly urban experience is envisioned for patron outdoor dining and resting areas and will contain 200 feet of enhanced landscaping along Washington Street,” according to the application submitted the project developer, Cascadia Development Partners.
Portland-based Tiland-Schmidt Architects was hired for the project. The firm has had a large presence in Clark County’s retail development. Its projects include Grand Central, Salmon Creek Square, Mill Plain One and the former Rose’s Deli building at Southeast 192nd Avenue and Southeast 34th Street.
